Need a matte finish paint
« on: December 14, 2006, 11:55:41 AM »
Hello everyone,

I painted a room with Ralph Lauren paint about 9 months ago. The room needed some patchwork done to it and I had to buy more paint. The problem is that RL changed the base so the colors do not match any more. The problem turned out to be RL made the matte base more of an eggshell. So, I need to replaint the room (Thanks a million RL). I will get the color matched and start over, but I want a very matte finish.

Can anyone recommend a good matte base? Does BM make one? I have read good things about their paint in this forum.

Thanks,

Gary

RL? I give you a lot of credit for even trying them, I normally use Benjamin Moore Matte, it usually works very well.

Gary,

My pick is using Ben Moore's  Regal Matte.  The finish is really nice.  :)

BM matte is nice, but understand it is slightly less sheen than eggshell, but not alot.
I also like Muralo matte.

Ben-Moore Matte is a fantastic paint!! Rolls well and touches up even better. I've had customers touch up the B-M matte years later with nearly perfect "blend" . Dirt can easily be washed off. A bit pricey, but worth it. :)
