A day at the museum...
« on: August 04, 2007, 10:20:45 AM »
My youngest turned 2 a couple weeks ago, and since he is BIG into trains, we decided to spend a day at the Museum of Transportation. While I could post a lot of pictures, I'll narrow it down to some that I thought were pretty cool.

He was fascinated by the trains, yet pretty scared at first. He was running around yelling CHOO CHOO, but it took a bit for him to warm up to them, and get close.

All good conductors know you need to bring a cup of juice for the long ride.

The train tracks ran through the back of our property when I was growing up, so I was on and around them all the time. But I had truly forgotten how massive these monsters are up close.

My wife is 5'8", and she was dwarfed by the wheels.

How about one made from an old school bus...

This is my personal favorite. It was used up north for a snow plow. Imagine this giant snow blower coming at you...

heh, from the looks of the pic, I doubt the driver could imagine his rig bearing down on someone - as he wouldn't be able to see them over that blower.  ;)

Looks like a nice family day.

Incidentally, I remember the "Burlington Route" trains from when I was a young 'un.  That type of train was common up-and-down the east coast when I was growing up.

And just to add something, that little bugger is luckier than most.
First, the train museum, now he's in Daytona on the beach.
Wish I could be so lucky.

AND it appears he stole the hearts of 2 young ladies...
