We've been blessed with project after project of window prefinishing. This happens to be a historical restoration. All wood windows, true divided lites, stained interiors and painted exteriors. The trim is already done and standing tall,  awaiting delivery mid December. I'm thankful for all our hardworking painters and helpers who never complain about too much work.  :)

Most of the windows are 80 inches tall by 38 inches wide. A handfull to disassemble and reassemble but my people have it under control. Our deadline for shipment of 44 units is 12/19. Diana, our lead painter assured me...No Problem!

Hmmmm, people spend $$$$$ on furnishings...
BUT, Oh my God, that paint is $40/gaL!!
It's the most noticeable part of an interior!!

Blackwolf,

I am a painter who formed a partnership distribution center of windows, doors, kitchen cabinets, etc. My job is sales and contractor coordinator. I naturally fall into the prefinish shop everyday to spend time with the folks I have in there. They are great people and we wouldn't be where we are without them.

The prefinish concept comes natural to me, of course. We sell more windows than our competitors because when the contractor (our customer) delivers and installs them, the job is complete (except for a few nail holes in the trim to be filled).

I'll show more pics of how things are progressing.

Faron,

We used SW BAC Wiping Stain and Duration on the window sashes and frames.

On the redwood trim, we primed and back primed with CoverStain and then two coats of Duration on face and edges.
