First post sorry it's questions!
« on: May 02, 2008, 06:51:03 PM »
First of all Hi to everyone, please tell me have I been an idiot as on an impulse buy I've just bought a Porter Cable PSH1 http://www.amazon.com/Porter-Cable-Gravity-Feed-Spray-PSH1/dp/B00005R1IK

The thing is it was a real good price but I don't own a turbine I have a largish 14CFM compressor a small 6CFM one and a very cheap HVLP from a super store like this http://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?p=63334&sid=8c7e53f3513220cc8d66f0602b35dcb4

Will any of these work this gun I'm hoping the small HVLP turbine will, I realise I will have to somehow get the hose connected as the one I have now is a type of push fit both ends?...

I don't have the gun as yet so I'm hoping to have something ready when it appears also it comes with a 1.5 needle but I need to spray Acrylic Varnish will the optional 2.2 be a better option for this?

Thankyou for any help in advance...

Lee

Lee,

I own and use (quite often) a few of those guns. I shop spray cabinet doors and trim in both acrylic and oil with them. The proper hook up is to a compressor, I am not sure how you would rig a turbine but since they operate at about 45-50 psi 1/4" quick connects work great for a compressor rig.
I never shoot anything straight out of the bucket.... I get the best results by thinning the paint a bit..  ;)

Best Luck
