I agree with you both. I'm a very non-judgmental person, but would fear that some of my wealthier clients would balk at it. First impressions are everything. I too had hair down to my crack, but decided to try to take my business one step further, and aced it. Sometimes you only get one shot at that special client who could hold the mother lode. I understand once you are in the door, personality can overcome most things. I would just be apprehensive about that first meeting. I want them to feel that I am the son they never had and wished they did.

And you can bet your paycheck I would hook up with you freaks if I ever get the chance to head out to Vegas.

And BTW, women want me, and bass fear me.  ;)

Well those wealthy type of clients here in Portland wouldn't get anything done at all if they had aversions to tattoos. This place is Hipsterville and men and women all over town are just covered in tats; arms, legs, backs, chests, stomachs etc. It rivals San Francisco for the amount of body decoration I've seen on people. I don't have an aversion to it all and I have a few tats myself but like Jared they can't always be seen. There's a place near downtown whose business is tattoo removal. I suspect there will be a lot more of those places in 10 or 20 years time.

Heres mine got it in a bad bad place LOL during some bad times and a different life then today. I still have sketches of tats I've  wanted for a long time but now that i'm like coming up on 50 I think I can live a few more years with out them.

Hey guys...

I think the question about tats is a very reasonable one.
I have had a few less than great reactions to my look over the years... but it is rare.

Most of the work I have done has been by referal.
I always find it funny that my clients will tell me that they were warned that I look a bit different, by the people refering them to me.
The line usually goes something like this... "Matt is a big, tattooed guy with earrings... but he is very good, very nice and extremely professional."

My biggest client in and English guy name Gavin. Gavin deals almost exclusively with multi-million dollar residential clients. He always mentions to his customers that I look a little funny, but they know that Gav would NEVER refer me if I was not a true professional.

As for other aspects of my life...
Well... cops dont seem to like me much.. but since I have NO criminal history what-so-ever, they dont really have much to say, after they run my I.D.

Some people make assumptions about me, my life and my background... rarely do they guess that I have been clean and sober for almost 23 years. :-)

As for our work...
Thanks for the nice words...
The tangerine is actually in a " game room"... and I thought it was pretty ugly myself.
However, people pay me to do nice work... but rarely ask my opinion of colors.

If it wont get up and walk away... I can paint it!
