Painting fiberglass liner/cloth
« on: August 04, 2008, 04:24:51 PM »
Has anyone painted over fiberglass cloth installed with heavy duty adhesive?  I'm finding I have to apply two coats of oil based stain kill prior to appling finish coat. Thanks, JDW.

XIM has an oil flash bond that works on fiberglass. Haven't used it in a long time, the name escapes me, but it will come up.

I've hung a bunch of stuff from Roos, but don't know/can't find vp35. What is the product name, Tasso Glass, Texture Glass, Sempatech, etc.? I do know all their stuff I hung then painted only needed a high quality acrylic primer. And even if it called for an oil or alkyd product, I see no reason for a stain killer.
