In addition to my painterly duties I am also an artist and I have been trying to break into the mural and faux finish market to supplement my painting work.
Anyway, I got my first paid comission and it's for a hair salon, but she is a hot rod girl and wanted a retro/beach look. Anyway, for stuff like this I sometimes do comps in PhotoShop and then either grid the mural or if it's simple enough I sketch and scale it by hand. I've also been considering a projector to speed up the layout at the jobsite. Anyway, thought I'd post a pic of it for y'all. The layout and colors are subject to change, I'll post updates if anyone wants to see the progress from beginning comps to paint on the wall.
