Wooster's Brush and Roller Guide
« on: January 28, 2009, 02:23:26 PM »
An informative brush and roller guide from Wooster. It also has some pretty good tips, I like this one:

Quote
What do you do to make it easier to clean your brushes at the end of the job, especially where
the filament enters the ferrule? You take 2 inches of blue masking tape and wrap it around
the ferrule, with the tape reaching about 1/2 inch onto the filament. The paint still gets down
behind the tape, but because little air gets to it, the dry line is up the filament about 1/2 inch.

I am a webmaster in the tradition of Howard Hughes, I fly this Spruce Goose of a website through cyberspace by the seat of my pants and I usually manage to keep her just above the water, but every now and then I get a wet ass. Let me know if you feel a shudder.

I am a big wooster fan.  I love there brushes compared to purdy because they are more firm.  Purdy to me is too delicate.  I am heavy handed and need a firm brush that i have total control over.  But i do want to say as much as a wooster fan i am purdy has an amazing roller cover which rolling anything from flat to semi-gloss we use the roller called the collasial.  Awesome roller.  The only time i will not use this roller or recommend it is if we are using it for a ceiling.  The roller nap is kind of rough but will leave a smooth finish but on ceilings I have found that it is too rough and will usually pull down the popcorn or textured ceiling and then in that case i will break out the wooster roller.  We always use 1/2 nap for most our projects unless it calls for a heavier nap maybe 3/4 nap or 1 inch.  BUt again if i had to pick a brand i would go wooster all the way.  Hey I ve got a blog too on my website.  Feel free to Post comments to our blogs or whatever too.  I am always in to learning more myself.  The day you think you know everything is the day your business is going to slowly start to crash.
