Accent Wall
« on: December 17, 2009, 06:20:34 PM »
Not posted any job shots for a while (never finished with the last lot) so here's some I took today.  Will have to try n find some before shots but the job was...

strip old anaglypta paper
sand n fill n sand n fill trim
repair old damaged plaster walls
artex smooth-it over old polytex ceiling
install liner on walls
paint ceiling walls and trim
install paper on accent wall

Hard to tell on photos but the walls were painted to match the background of the accent wall paper.  Will try n find some before shots which I know I took and the h/o has allowed me to get some better snaps once carpet and fitted wardrobs are installed...

Impressive look Jd, The paper looks like it has a lot of sheen... what's the type?

It was just an off the shelf textured paper-backed vinyl.  The sheen was in the silver leaves which was a foil type material.  any creases would show so had to handle with care.  the black leaves had a suede sort of feel to them.  i thought the paper looked great against the plain walls so thought i'd post.  these accent walls have been popular over here for a while now.

Thanks... I say thanks because I picked it :)  Was only about £13/$20 per roll also. (www.grahambrown.com)  These big floral and damask style patterns are all the rage here at the mo.  Waiting to here back on a job I've bid on hanging some gorgeous flock paper.  Only ever hung the stuff once!!
