Aluminum Siding question
« on: April 07, 2010, 03:19:20 PM »
Hello, I am new to this forum, I own a pressure washing company, I do some painting but I dont really call myself a painter.I frequent some of the pressure washing forums and find them to be great.  I have a job to do for a friend of mine, he owns a store and wants the front painted. It is small its an older main street store. It is only a small amount of aluminum siding around some windows and some trim.  The problem is It is on main street and I really would rather not spray. I dont have much experience spraying and dont feel comfortable doing it. My question is can I roll this siding and if so how and what kind of roller.

Make sure the Aluminum is clean ( no surface dust from oxidation ) and use 100% acrylic latex paint. Yes, you can roll it, I'd use a 4-1/2" or 6-1/2" mini roller with a closed end. If you don't like the look of the nap texture, back brush the texture out as you go... or you might find it better to just brush the siding..  ;)
