Is this common practice?
« on: July 20, 2016, 05:07:49 PM »
Hi, I recently had my house exterior painted. I paid for materials which include house paint, trim paint, and primer. When the job was completed, I asked for the leftover paints in case I needed to make touch-ups in the future. The painter gave my the house paint but said he would use the trim and primer on another job. The job was done beautifully, and I was happy to pay the bill in full. But now I have to get the number for the white trim paint  so I can buy another can for future touch-ups...and I have to watch every dollar.
Am I crazy, or don't I have a right to the leftover trim and primer paint? :-\ Why am I supplying materials for another job? This has been bothering me.
Thank you, Elizabeth

The painter should have left you the trim paint, you paid for it.

Thank you. I think I will call the painter, and when I ask for the paint number of the trim, I'll mention my thoughts to him.
