Benjamin Moore latex porch floor paint test
« on: December 19, 2016, 09:12:10 PM »
We recently experienced a major job site fail with Benjamin Moore latex patio and porch floor paint. Fifteen dry days (around 60 degrees) after application it rained on parts of the porch and the paint lifted very easily. Upon inspection we found that water would break down the paint to the point of total failure.  Of course we were blamed ( without inspection ) for failure to prep the surface, however, the surface was power washed, scraped and sanded before application.

Since our procedures were questioned we decided to do a comparison test for coalescence, bond and water resistance.   Here is that test

I am a webmaster in the tradition of Howard Hughes, I fly this Spruce Goose of a website through cyberspace by the seat of my pants and I usually manage to keep her just above the water, but every now and then I get a wet ass. Let me know if you feel a shudder.
