High VOC paint in small bedroom. Need advice.
« on: May 29, 2017, 09:40:45 AM »
I painted my (metal) baseboard heater with some spray paint that has ~460g/l VOC. While painting it had an incredibly strong odor as well. This heater is at one side of the room and about 9 feet long. I will be sleeping right next to it.

The spray paint was cheap enamel too, but it says that it is non-toxic when dry. Does anyone know if dangerous gasses could come off the metal heater after it has dried?

If that is not known, would it be a good idea to roll on some other low VOC paint? Would covering it mitigate the issue or completely eliminate toxic releases from the enamel paint beneath it?

After it's dry your OK.
