Placemat ads
« on: August 28, 2012, 02:25:16 PM »
I was recently contacted by a local breakfast joint wanting me to advertise on their placemats.  It's $150 for 3 months with about 50,000 prints during that period.  I was wondering if anyone else has used this form of advertising. Is it effective? If it snags even one job I figure it should be worthwhile. Any opinions?

Have you ever really looked at a placemat ad, let alone even considered hiring someone from it?

Yeah, me neither.

I read the ads. BUT have never hired anyone from them. I don't advertise @ all. I don't even have my name on the van, but 150 bucks isnt that much and there is always a chance someone might call.

After thinking about it i decided against it, and let the guy know. He then asked me if i would try it for $75. I went for it. It goes to print sept.15 thru dec. 15. We'll see if i get any bites. It is the largest and best (IMO) breakfast joint in town. So we'll see. At the least a little name recognition from see my logo around town cant hurt.
