I was recently hired to repaint/repair metal framework for a pergolo. THe owner had painted it with latex house paint prior to the pergolo being built. After the woodwork was completed rust began to bleed through. ANyone have suggestion as to how to fix this problem.

Your probably need to strip that paint off that metal, etch and prime the metal with the correct rust resistant primer, then paint with a good exterior paint.
